Synopsis: With the creation of Haven as a safe place for refugees, Gordon hopes to stop the gang fighting in Gotham. Selina is determined to find Jeremiah and she convinces Bruce to help her. Penguin goes to Haven to reclaim his staff.
Review: Things get interesting and tensions rise in the streets of Gotham.
The Story
Haven is all set up and it seems to be going pretty well for James Gordon and his people as they try to give aid to refugees and keep some semblance of law and order and hopefully prevent Penguin and other factions from hurting the civilian population. The trouble is. Penguins staff are slowly defecting to Haven. Which leads to Penguin raiding Haven in an attempt to get his people back, but things get complicated thanks to The Demons.
Elsewhere, Selina enlists Bruce Wayne to help her find out the whereabouts of Jeremiah. Their quest leads them to a fairly rough area of the city, which is controlled by a brutal gang, which they fend off, but Bruce begins to take issue with Selina’s brutal methods. Eventually, they find their way to a church where they meet a woman who appears to be very similar to Harley Quinn and even uses the famous pudding catchphrase.
The Acting
Robin Lord Taylor is wonderfully over the top this week as The Penguin, who as ever rants about like a spoilt brat when he doesn’t get his way. I was also impressed by Francesca Root-Dodson who plays Ecco, who is the woman that I felt seemed a little similar to Harley Quinn. Ecco has a wonderfully fun series and scenes with Selina, which end up in a fairly impressive fight sequence.
Overall
A strong episode, which concludes with an attack on Haven from an as yet unknown source. Might it be Jeremiah?
