Synopsis: Ghidorah is about to attack Tokyo. Cedric and his friends know they need to call on Godzilla for help, but will the King of the Monsters listen and return for a rematch against Ghidorah? And has Godzilla healed enough to put up a fight? What if it hasn’t? That’s where new friend Karen comes in: she’s able to call another monster…another king. From the shores of Okinawa, King Caesar is summoned to help humanity!

The Story

Having taken somewhat of a beating at the claws of Ghidorah in the last issue. Godzilla and Ghidorah are resting, but Ghidorah is recovering from their wounds at a faster rate. Meanwhile, Cedric and his friends receive another message from the two young women that have a connection to Mothra. They warn Cedric and his friends that Ghidorah is readying for another attack and they need to reach out to Godzilla again, but they also ask Karen the transfer student to call on her Monster Guardian King Caesar to help.

Elsewhere, The aliens that tried to control Ghidorah are panicking and making ready to try and take control of Earth via alternative means.

Artwork

The art team continues to impress with some great shots of the various monsters, which includes a brilliant panel featuring Ghidorah during a bit of a dream sequence at the start of the book where Cedric is getting somewhat cocky for him to only see his school attacked by Ghidorah. The final page, which reveals Karen’s Monster Guardian King Caesar makes for an awesome final image, which builds on the expectations for a massive Monster battle in the final issue.

Overall

I continue to enjoy this story as the storyline and art style remind for of a really good Saturday morning cartoon. I love the idea of school kids having a connection to these monsters and being able to have some form of influence over them. I also enjoy seeing how threatened Cedric seems to feel when Karen is around.

Overall. A really fun issue.
