Synopsis: The greatest threat to the world as we know it, Yuggoth, claims Kong’s temple, and the fragile balance of Skull Island shatters.
Now Charlie, Annie, Kaia, and their allies must risk everything to seal the Pit before Yuggoth’s monstrous army overruns the surface… while Kong, wounded and weary, faces battles that could end the island’s last line of defense forever.
The Story
Picking up from where the last issue left off, the Yuggoth has taken control of Kong’s temple on Skull Island. Titans continue to pour through the portal between Hollow Earth and the island, each one taking a run at an already injured Kong.
Meanwhile, Annie, her mum, Charlie, and Kaia put together a plan to use leftover C-4 to seal the portal. Annie’s mum, now firmly in charge of the group, decides she’ll lead a team to Kong’s temple at first light to plant the charges. Annie, convinced she can get there faster, is told no… and promptly goes anyway.
Out at sea, things aren’t going much smoother. The Captain and Sam have been captured and taken prisoner by Druid, who reveals that his mysterious backers intend to turn Skull Island into some kind of monster tourist attraction. With that hanging over them, the Captain and Sam begin plotting their escape, knowing that stopping Druid and preventing the Yuggoth from reaching neighbouring islands has to be their top priority.
Back on the island, Annie quickly finds herself in trouble while attempting to set the charges. Her situation pushes Charlie and Kaia to go after her, only to discover that yet another Titan has emerged from Hollow Earth.
Artwork
Christopher Jones continues to deliver some solid artwork on this book, maintaining a style that closely mirrors the look of the Netflix animated show. The establishing panels of Kong’s temple in disarray, following the Yuggoth’s takeover, do a great job of setting the tone for this chapter.
I also really enjoyed the sequence where Annie and Kaia ride their respective steeds, set against the backdrop of Kong battling yet another Titan emerging from the Hollow Earth. It’s a striking bit of visual storytelling that adds real energy to the issue.
Overall
This was another enjoyable issue in the ongoing series, with each chapter so far proving to be just as good, if not better in places, than watching the series itself.

Oh cool the Cthulhu creatures are in this comic!
No. There are no Cthulhu creatures in this comic. They may resemble them. But its a completely different universe. Think Godzilla and King Kong. But I do get why you think that as Lovecraft did have fungal type monsters that used the same name. So the write might be basing them on that.
