Earthdivers

Synopsis: This month in Earthdivers. It’s time to stop thinking and start cutting throats. Christopher Columbus’ ships are weeks closer to landfall, and Tad has nothing to show for it. Battered and bruised after a string of slick but failed attempts to stop the mission’s progress, Tad is ready to admit that history will never change if he doesn’t spill blood—and he’s too pissed off to care about collateral damage anymore.

The Story

In 1492 Tad is discouraged about his failed attempts to kill Columbus. Having suffered  several beatings for his efforts. Tad is now trying to think of ways to bring Columbus to his ship so he can change history by ending Columbus’s discovery of the new world. In 2112 things are looking bad as Emily finds herself in a fight for her life at the cave. Meanwhile, Sosh makes her stand against Yellow Kid about the unforgivable origins of their plan to save the world.

Artwork

As with the previous issues. The artwork in this issue is a thing of beauty. Davide Gianfelice and Joana Lafuente continue to be a fantastic team. They do a brilliant job of depicting the savage way in which Tad murders the crew of the ship he is on and prepares a little display for his prey. We also get a rather disturbing image of Tad putting a mask on as he prepares to kill Christopher Columbus.

Overall

A solid issue which continues to push the story forward. However it is beginning to get a little confusing with the amount of time travel elements as extra layers get added to the story, which may have some. Particularly me having to check back and re – read the previous issues to keep up. As I have lost the plot a little with the events of 2112. Hopefully things become clearer when we see events unfold in the next issue.
