SPECIAL OVERSIZED ISSUE MARKING 60 YEARS OF DAREDEVIL!
ISSUE

Synopsis: SPECIAL OVERSIZED ISSUE MARKING 60 YEARS OF DAREDEVIL! A dragnet is closing around Matt Murdock, A.K.A. DAREDEVIL! Police on both sides of the law are hunting him, something vicious with a deep connection to Matt’s very soul is hunting his friends and, in the midst of that chaos, an old foe with the blood of Matt’s closest allies on his hands returns…

The Stories

The opening story in this issue picks up directly from where the last story left off. We see a fun story in which Matt Murdock and Electra pair up as Daredevils and take down a group of The Heats gang. Only for them to be facing up against Bullseye. In the follow-up story. We learn that The man behind the Heat is none other than Kingpin who is making a comeback. After this reveal we get a story about Matt Murdock visiting a school for the Blind on career day. Only as he arrives the school has gone into lockdown due to one of the schools students going missing. It turns out that the kid is the daughter of a Lawyer who has had dealings with Kingpin.

After this we get a throwback story to when Matt Murdock was still a lawyer and we see him take on The Punisher in order to protect a suspected drug producer, who is manufacturing diabetis medicines to help those who cannot afford health insurance.

The Artwork

All the artists in this book do a fantastic job of the illustrations. I loved the penultimate story with the Punisher as the art felt very much in line with the print style of the 1980s. Especially when it comes to the look and style of The Punisher.

Overall

All the writers and artists on this book do a great job. I found the first two stories to be the most in line with the books current storylines and truly enjoyed those. But even the stories that stepped out of that mold were a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the final story, which was about Electra rescuing an old mans dog from some thugs. The old man thanks Electra and makes a really important point about the value of connection and family.

Overall. A great special with some fun stories.
