THE WOLF IS AT THE DOOR!

Synopsis: THE WOLF IS AT THE DOOR!  Whatever mysterious force that has made Matt Murdock’s life a living hell for weeks has now put him and his fearless alter ego DAREDEVIL on a collision course with the one and only WOLVERINE!

The Story

Picking up from where the last book left off. Daredevil has bumped into Wolverine in a bar in the middle of Hell’s Kitchen. Right off the bat it is apparent that Wolverine is spoiling for a fight and a reluctant Daredevil is ready to take on the challenge as he senses that Wolverine is possessed by one of the seven deadly sins. Initially, Daredevil thinks that Wrath possesses Wolverine, but as the fight unfolds it becomes apparent that Wrath is not the sin that has captured Wolverine.

The Artwork

Aaron Kuder draws the most bloody battle we have seen thus far on this book. Wolverine’s claws get a proper workout in this issue as we see the whole fight move frantically from a bar to the back of a dumpster truck and through some of the backstreets of Hells Kitchen. I loved the imagery used when this fright resolves where we see a fantastic image of Daredevil exercising the evil spirit of Wrath from Wolverine’s body.

Overall

Saladin Ahmed continues to weave an epic story in which Matt Murdock aka Daredevil continues to have his faith put to the test. But also continues to struggle with his faith when it comes to some of the dark deeds he has to commit to in order to clean up the streets of Hell’s Kitchen. I loved the commentary on how Daredevil struggles with his wrath when it comes to dishing out his brand of street justice.

Overall. A fantastic issue in which Daredevil gets a hot tip from a former gang member and reconnects with an old flame.
