Synopsis: Secrets have been revealed and the Doctor and his friends at last know who they are fighting. Alliances will shift. Friends will die. Can even the Doctor come out of this alive? Tom Baker and Jane Slavin return in the finale of The Fourth Doctor Adventures Series 8.
Review: Guy Adams, Jonathan Barnes, and John Dorney crafted a marvelous story for The Syndicate Master Plan, Volume 2. The tale revolved around themes of identity, perception, and reality. Along the way, the writers gave listeners a ton of lovely Easter eggs. They also gave Tom Baker, Jane Slavin, and John Leeson four absolute gift scripts that allowed the actors to demonstrate their ranges.
In addition to the leads, I also have to give major kudos to John Shrapnel, Blake Ritson, and Gethin Anthony for completely going for broke in their respective performances. It was wonderfully fun listening to them have such wonderful fun.
Finally, I’ve really appreciated the universe building and universe expansion across this entire season — Big Finish doing what it does best.
