THE FORGEMASTER FEDERAL IS THE CAPTAIN BRITAIN WE DESERVE!
CAPTAIN

Synopsis: THE FORGEMASTER FEDERAL IS THE CAPTAIN BRITAIN WE DESERVE! He’s here to right wrongs, defend the innocent and — oh wait, Morgan Le Fay put him in power? So much for the campaign slogans. Betsy Braddock is down for the count, Rachel Summers is iced out and the most powerful witch in history is about to take the entire kingdom for herself. Britain needs true allies — but they may have to come from foreign lands…

The Story

Having retreated in last month’s issue. Betsy Braddock and her team have headed home for some downtime. But are still worried about what Morgan Le Fay’s next move will be. Even Rachel’s psychic abilities are coming up with nothing on Le Fay. But things soon change one of Le Fay’s deadly killer robots attacks The London Underground but is delayed by a clever plan concocted by Betsy and Brian Braddock. But the ruse will only last for so long.

Tired and fast running out of options. Bettsy begins to realize that she is going to need some outside help in order to help her and her people defend the country from the nefarious plans of Morgan Le Fay.

The Artwork

Vasco Georgiev gets a variety of things to draw in this issue ranging from Betsy Braddocks domestic situation to the more outlandish things such as a giant robot pained up resembling Captain Britain. The best sequence of panels in this issue is when we see Morgan Le Fay showing a very frightened Reubon what her plans are for Britain. And Closing out the comic is a fantastic image of Le Fay with Dr. Doom.

Overall

Tini Howard does a fairly decent job of carrying on this story. But aside from the robot attack on the London Underground. This issue felt a little like the story is treading a little water in order to make way for a few character moments. It was an okay issue. It just wasn’t a great issue.
