Synopsis: Deadites are now match for our hero, but the Sheriff is, when Ash is brought up on charges, Ruby, Kelly and Pablo go to break him out, but they discover some people are not who they seem to be. There’s a new evil in town.
Review: With the book now destroyed Ash is making plans to return to Florida, but his plans are scuppered when he is arrested for murder. The charges are trumped up and brought via a police officer who is not who she appears to be.
Pablo, Kelly and Ruby go to break Ash out and find themselves in a jail house full of paranoid people as Baal an evil spirit that steals the skin of his victims so he can pose as them is about.
Ultimately the gang defeat Baal with the usual blood, guts and gore that you’s expect. But they have a new issue presented to them in the form of Pablo who is carrying some form of life inside of him and in a great deal of distress.
Okay. This was not your typical Ash Vs Evil Dead episode. If indeed there is a typical episode. What it was though was character drama through and through. We got some back story on Ruby because we find out that she had promised something to Baal, but had not delivered, but we also get the continuing mystery surrounding Pablo.
We also see the return of Sheriff Emery who continues to have a somewhat antagonistic relationship with Ash and tries his best to convince everyone that Ash is Baal.
Ultimately. This was an enjoyable half hour with the gore factor and such dialled down a few notches in order to allow the character drama and paranoia some room to breath.
As with any given episode of this show. The one liners are thick and fast. Great episode if not a little different to what has come before.
