Thea Queen gets a fantastic send off in an episode that brings some of the fun back to Arrow

Synopsis: Nyssa Al Ghul returns to Star City to warn Thea that a group of renegade League of Assassins members are planning to attack her. This group, led by Athena, is intent on finding a mysterious box that Malcolm left behind and will stop at nothing to get it. Nyssa helps Oliver come to a life-changing realization.

Review: This episode serves two purposes. One is to give Thea a decent send off with a fun episode that has a few quest elements attached to it. While the other is for Oliver to come to a realization about his role as Green Arrow.

It also had a third purpose. Which was to make me extremely happy to see Katrina Law back as the beautiful yet dangerous Nyssa Al Ghul. And to think Oliver chose Felicity over Nyssa. That man is a fool. Either way fun aside this was a really fun and engaging adventure with a pretty interesting new villain in the form of the very hard to kill Athena who was played by Kyra Zagorsky

The quest for the map that Thea’s father Malcolm Merlyn hid away gave Thea an opportunity to come to a few realizations about herself and ends with her and Roy leaving with Nyssa once they had found the map and figured out what it was that Merlyn was protecting. This story ends in such a way that it could be revisited at a later date. But for now, it looks like we have probably seen the last of Thea as a regular cast member of the series. Which does not necessarily mean we’ll not see her come back as a guest at some point.

While Oliver is questing with Thea and Nyssa. The other team, which is made up of Curtis, Dana and the hospitalized Rene is trying to figure out who on Star Cities Police Force is dirty. Which is a mission that provides a new love interest for Curtis.

Overall. This is the most fun have had watching Arrow in awhile. We get a bit of a break from the ongoing story arc, which has taken somewhat of a hit now that Michael Emmerson has left. And instead, we get a fun quest style storyline that gives Thea a decent send-off. The episode also features some of the best incidental music we have had on Arrow for awhile.
