Synopsis: Oliver continues his battle with Cayden James. Dinah and Oliver have a major disagreement that endangers the life of one of their own.
Review: Seven days have passed since Oliver had to give over 10 Billion dollars of the cities money to Cayden James and the cities coffers are emptying fast. In order to try and put an end to Cayden James or at the very least try to level the playing field Ollie calls on the help of ARGUS, but it seems that James is also ready for that move too. Which puts Oliver and team arrow between a rock and a hard place.
There is a glimmer of hope. While on patrol Ollie and Diggle run into Vincent Sobel aka The Vigilante and learns that Dinah, Curtis, and Rene have been working with him. This brings the two teams together because Dinah’s team needs the technology that Ollie has in order to gain some intel from Cayden Jame’s servers. To this end, Sobel agrees to go back to Cayden Jame’s base of operations and break into Cayden’s server room in order to download the computer’s files to the sniffer device that Felicity used when she was with Helix. Sobel manages to get the intelligence back to the team but is captured, which does nothing to help Ollie properly reunite with his former team members. Dinah wants to try and save her lover from the torture that Cayden is likely to inflict on Sobel, which means that Ollie and Diggle will have to use the new intel on their own and try and retrieve the bomb, which Cayden James is threatening the city with.
While the teams once again go their separate ways on two different missions. Felicity has brought in her old friend from her days working for Helix and the two find a vital clue that could eventually help Ollie and the team get Cayden James. But will Ollie be able to convince the others to reteam with him and will Dinah get over her rage and vengeful feelings toward Cayden James and Laurel Lance for murdering Sobel? Has it really been “All for nothing?”
This was a really strong episode with a lot of great dramatic tension and some brilliant acting from Michael Emerson as Cayden James. The scene in which it becomes obvious that he is onto Sobel is pure class and the cold way in which he sets Laurel onto Sobel. Having her murder him in front of a trapped Dinah was as cold and calculating as it gets.
Given the trauma of what has happened. It is probably going to be a bumpy ride for all the team members as Dinah works through her raw emotions. It probably isn’t likely that we’ll see the reunion of Team Arrow for a couple more week. Which most likely means that Ollie, Diggle, Felicity and her old friend from Helix will likely have to follow up on the digital files they have found, which indicate that Ollie has been set up as a pawn in some bigger villains game. Meaning that Cayden James is being used via misinformation about the murder of his son. But who could this other villain be and when is he likely to be revealed?
