Highlander Star Stan Kirsch Dies

Much loved 'Highlander' actor passes away...

Stan Kirsch, who was best known to fans of Highlander as Ritchie Ryan has died of an apparent suicide.

According to reports from TMZ, the actor’s body was discovered over the weekend by his wife Kristyn Green.

Kirsch was a series regular on the series from the very start back in 1992 and played the first character that we saw make the transition from regular mortal to one of the Immortals when he was killed while trying to protect Duncan MacLeod’s girlfriend Tess. From that point on Richie would train under his mentor until he eventually got written out of the show during its 5th and penultimate season when MacLeod while under the influence of a demon took his head.

The actor was a regular fan favorite at the various Highlander conventions.

His other roles included stints on General Hospital, JAG, Family Law, and Friends. In recent years Kirsch has been passing his knowledge on as an acting coach.

We here at SciFiPulse are very sorry to be reporting this news and pass our condolences on to the family and friends of Stan Kirsch.
