Former Vampire Slayer Signs Up For ‘Star Wars: Rebels’

Gellar will lend her voice to the Disney XD 'Star Wars' series, but as yet her role in the show has not been revealed.

Sarah Michelle Gellar is putting down her vampire slaying stakes in exchange for a trusty old blaster for season two of ‘Star Wars: Rebels’.

What has been revealed is the fact that she will play a recurring character on the series,

which takes place between the events of ‘Star Wars Episodes III and IV’ and focuses on the crew of the starship Ghost.

“We’re thrilled to have Sarah Michelle Gellar on board for Season 2,” executive producer Dave Filoni said in a statement. “She is a true Star Wars Rebels fan and her passion undoubtedly comes through in the voice recording sessions.”

If Gellar winds up playing a recurring villain on the series. She already has plenty of intelligence on the Rebel Alliance via her Husband Freddie Prinze, Jr, who voices Jedi Padawan Kanan Jarrus on the series.

‘Star Wars: Rebels’ finished airing its first season of episodes on Disney XD in the USA, but still has episodes left to be aired on the same channel here in the UK.
