"We all know shows that have outstayed their welcome, or been cynically resurrected," he said.

In a recent interview for The BBC Writers Room ‘Being Human’ creator Toby Whithouse was asked if he’d ever consider bringing back ‘Being Human.’

“We all know shows that have outstayed their welcome, or been cynically resurrected,” he said.

“No-one would thank me – least of all the Being Human fans – if I went back with anything other than a stunning and revolutionary idea. Anything less would demean the show. And I haven’t had that idea.”

‘Being Human’ was a huge hit for BBC THREE and and centred on a Ghost, Werewolf and Vampire trying to live a normal respectable life. The show ran for five seasons on the BBC and spawned a hugely popular American series on Syfy in the USA. The series wasn’t one for pulling punches and over its time on the air it dealt with numerous topical and sensitive social issues in an informed and entertaining way.

Whithouse has written a new two-part adventure for the next series of ‘Doctor Who’, while his spy thriller ‘The Game’ continues on BBC Two on Thursday evenings at 9PM.
