"Constantine [has] higher ratings than Hannibal and climbing," he wrote.

Earlier this week NBC provided fans with disappointing news that they would not be giving ‘Constantine’ a back nine episodes, which closes out the first season at just 13 episodes.

The news started fan chatter about the show possibly not being picked up for a second season. Despite no formal work about cancellation from NBC.

Speaking to fans via his Twitter account showrunner Daniel Cerone is insisting that the show hasn’t been axed and “producers are confidant” [sic] about a potential second season.

Constantine [has] higher ratings than Hannibal and climbing,” he wrote. “Hannibal got second season. So keep watching!”

He added: “NBC wants our success and DC is [a] beast. Won’t say die.”

Constantine airs on Fridays at 10/9c in the US, with new episodes debuting on Saturdays in the UK via Amazon Prime Instant Video.
