Barrowman & Gill send message of support to Orlando

The openly gay actor sent love and support to the GLBT community, Orlando and people everywhere telling politicians to be careful and others to stand up against this kind of violence.

In the wake of the deadly and cowardly mass shooting in Orlando, Florida at the Pulse night club which is frequented by the GLBTQ community this past weekend, John Barrowman who currently stars in the CW’s Arrow as Malcolm Merlyn and is also very well known for his role as Captain Jack Harkness in both Doctor Who and Torchwood, has sent a message of support and love to all of those affected by this most recent tragedy.

Waking up in the morning while in Melbourne Australia, the look of disgust, sadness and frustration was plainly evident on Barrowman’s face along with that of his life partner and husband since 2013, Scott Gill as the fan favorite, beloved and openly gay celebrity spoke about the tragic events of Sunday evening saying, “. . . Scott and I have a lot of connections to Orlando, we still have a home there and have been to the Pulse night club.”

As both he and his husband shook their heads in disbelief and anguish as he continued, “And we think it is absolutely shocking that someone who is such a coward would go into a place that is celebrating life, love and fun and people having a joyous time and they would go in as a coward and use weapons to do a vicious thing to part of a community that we love and have supported and are also a part of ,” as he looked over to his life partner and husband for confirmation, “and have been a part of for the last. . . thirty odd years!?” which Scott then confirmed.

So our thoughts are with everyone in Orlando. Our thoughts are with our LGBT community and the people who have lost family members in this sickening club shooting. And we all need to be vigilant and we all need to stand up fight back.” Looking into the camera with tenacity and resolve before continuing, “That’s what we all need to do. Not let this happen anymore.”

Barrowman then went a step further and looking to his husband for support continued with a message for politicians saying, “And to the politicians who are going to use this in their . . . how do I put this!? . . . Armory . . . to put fear into everybody, be very careful.” As the proudly gay Barrowman shook his head almost as if daring those politicians he was referring to, with his husband Scott by his side saying, “We all know who they are!“as Barrowman continued directly at the camera,  “Be very, very careful! People are suffering. Don’t use this to your advantage!

Barrowman and Scott then left off their message of love and support with the loving actor saying, “Love and Peace. And do what you can to help. Or do what you can to stand up and say that you are against this kind of violence.”
