In first place, just off the back of the two-year anniversary of the release date, we have Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, a DLC (downloadable content) which will be an expansion of the massively popular FromSoftware game Elden Ring. On the 25th of February, just before the two-year anniversary of the original game’s release, Bandai and FromSoftware released a gameplay trailer for the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. This trailer revealed the expansion will be released by the 21st of June this year.

The Star Wars: Dark Forces remaster takes second place, with just shy of 240,000 Google searches in the UK from February 2023 to January 2024. The game was originally released in 1996 on the original PlayStation by LucasArts. Nightdive Studios is developing this remastered version of the game, which will be released on Windows, PS4 and PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch. The first-person shooter will see Star Wars fans saving the galaxy in higher-resolution textures and better visuals in general when it releases on February 28.
And in third place, we have Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, an action-roleplaying game from Square Enix that will be a sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake. It is the second game to be remade from the original Final Fantasy VII games from 1997. The game has been in production since November 2019, just before the previous game release, and as such, it has been hotly anticipated by Final Fantasy fans for years. The game will be released on PlayStation 5 on February 29.
