Xander Berkeley Scores Major Role In New Season Of ‘The Walking Dead’

The actor will play a villain on the series, but it will not be the comic book character of Negan.

Xander Berkeley, who is perhaps best known for his brilliant performance as the doomed George Mason in season two of ’24’ has landed himself a potentially long term role in the new series of AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’.

According to TV Line the actor will play a villain on the series, but it will not be the comic book character of Negan.

The character does have some similar traits to Negan. Namely his narcissism, huge ego and self-preservation. He’s also said to relish the superiority that comes with being in control, but he plays it off with a car salesman-type charm.

Berkeley will debut during the second half of Walking Dead‘s sixth season (the first half premieres Sunday, Oct. 11 at 9/8c)
