Warner planning Reboot for ‘I Am Legend’

Warner Bros are looking at doing a reboot of ‘I Am Legend,’ which they had a hit with back in 2007 when Will Smith took on the role of Robert Neville the last survivor of a pandemic which turned the human race into flesh eating vampires.

The film was based on the book of the same name, which was written in 1954 by Richard Matheson. The 2007 movie was the fourth movie adaptation of the book.

This new version of the story is basically a retooled version of ‘A Garden at the End of the World,’ which is a sceenplay by Gary Graham.

The screenplay has been described as “a sci-fi version of John Wayne’s The Searchers“.

When Warner Bros noticed the similarities to I Am Legend‘s themes and mythology, they decided to attempt a redraft.

I Am Legend producers Akiva Goldsman, James Lassiter and Joby Harold will be returning for the project.
