Dawn-of-Justice_1Last weekend’s San Diego Comic Con saw lots of great spoilers and related images from upcoming shows, comics, movies and related genres, but perhaps one of the most exciting set of images to come from the Mecca of all Comic Cons were the new images given to us by Warner Bros, DC and the producers of the upcoming, Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice.

The three images traveling through the internet at the speed of light give us our first images of Henry Cavill in the role of Clark Kent/Superman, as well as the first real official image of Ben Affleck as BruceWayne/Batman and of course we have our first real image of Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. It is also interesting to note that Gal Godot’s Wonder Woman is the first on screen portrayal of Wonder Woman since Linda Carter, so needless to say, fandom has accepted these images with a ravenous and thunderous roar of acceptance!

The fans lucky enough to be present at the San Diego Comic Con presentation of the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justiceteaser, were also treated to a stage full of Heroes as Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Gal Godot took the stage along with the film’s director, Zack Snyder and the Nerdist himself, Chris Hardwick. It is almost hard to believe that we will be waiting a whole year for this movie, but truth be told, the electricity from these images feels as though it will be worth it!

Zack Snyder and the founding members of the Justice League also brought a short trailer with them for the San Diego Comic Con fans and the assembled fans gave their approval in a ROAR of applause and cheers. The teaser gave hints of Frank Miller’s version of the Dark Knight, along with images of Superman’s glowing eyes in flight above Batman in what looks like Superman fighting armor, as he stands next to the Bat-signal, in what may potentially be the first meeting between these two iconic Heroes on top of Gotham’s police headquaters!

The movie also stars Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane returning as their characters from Man of Steel, as well as Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, along with Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and Holly Hunter in a role which was in fact newly created for the upcoming DC Hero film. But what is perhaps most exciting is the anticipation that what we are really getting is the beginning of what I hope will be an era of the Justice League.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is written by Chris Terrio, directed by Zack Snyder and is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on May 6, 2016. But it is potentially what will come after this hopefully epic movie that has me most anxious, as it seems that Warner Bros and DC are indeed setting the world up for the ongoing adventures of the Justice League. I can only hope for a battle of box office block busters between all of the upcoming hero and super team movies that we will all become gloriously addicted to!
