‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ To Hit UK Moviegoers One Day Earlier

The official U.K. Star Wars Facebook and Twitter pages confirmed that the J.J. Abrams-directed entry in the franchise will arrive in theaters on Dec. 17

The force is strong with UK fans of ‘Star Wars’ because according to new information released by our Rebel allies the movie is going to hit UK Cinema’s a day earlier than advertised.

The official U.K. Star Wars Facebook and Twitter pages confirmed that the J.J. Abrams-directed entry in the franchise will arrive in theaters on Dec. 17, a day earlier than the U.S. release on Dec. 18.

This UK release is not the earliest release date for the much anticipated film. The film will open first in the United Arab Emirates, where parts of it were filmed, on Dec. 15; and in France, Italy, and several other European nations on Dec. 16.

The release in France and Italy could well see a few UK movies making a special Christmas weekend of it by booking a long weekend.
