‘Star Trek Discovery Trailer Drops

New Star Trek Discover Trailer drops with news of an extended first season.

Earlier today at the CBS Upfront’s, which were held in Los Angeles.

TV Critics and ‘Star Trek’ fans got there first real look at the new teaser trailer for the CBS All Access Series ‘Star Trek Discovery’.

The teaser gives us our first real look at the new characters and the new world that this series will exist in. Which is good ten years before Kirk and Spock and their time on the Enterprise.

The trailer came with the announcement that the series has been extended to a whopping 15 episodes. The original plan was for 13, but I guess CBS either have a lot of faith in the show or they’re superstitious.

Star Trek Discovery – After Show

CBS also announced that there will be an after show, but have yet to give any indication of who will host it. We think that they should get a member of the original or TNG cast to host the after show. If CBS can afford to allocate enough of their budget of course.

The Show Will Still Premier In The Autumn

The even also revealed that the series will still premiere in the Autumn. Though no actual date has been announced yet.

CBS also released a new poster for the series.

Of course fan reaction to this trailer has been mixed, which is to be expected.

We here are reserving judgement until we actually get to watch an episode. Thus far the only think we have an issue with is the revamped Klingons, but that is more of a geeky criticism based on the fact that the Klingons have had a certain look for well over 30 – years now. And if this were to be set 10 – years before the original series. They’d have smoother foreheads.

We still think that it is probably best to reserve judgement though until we actually learn more or even get to see an episode.
