Marvel Bringing ‘Squirrel Girl’ To TV In ‘New Warriors’ Comedy Series

Ah Nuts!

Ah nuts! Squirrel Girl is on the way.

It seems that their is no bounds to the mischief in the works from Marvel and ABC Television. Apparently the two companies, who are both owned by Disney are looking to bring M to our TV screens in a new comedy series titled ‘New Warriors’.

According to TV Line this new series will be a half-hour show, which will be shopped around the various TV channels.

At this point neither Marvel or ABC have commented on the details.

Described as a junior version of ‘The Avengers’ the ‘New Warriors’ is a team made up of teenagers one of whom would include Doreen Green (aka Squirrel Girl). Before you start saying it is lame. We have learned that SG can not only communicate with the worlds Squirrel population, but she also possessed super speed and strength.

In the comics universe SG has gone on to serve as a nanny to the offspring of Luke Cage and Jessica Jones.  The character made some big noise recently when ‘Pitch Perfect’ star Anna Kendrick expressed a desire to play the cheeky character on the big screen, telling Net A Porter, “My brother sent me a Squirrel Girl comic because he thinks I should. I don’t know what Squirrel Girl does other than be half squirrel, but I could be half squirrel!”

I wonder if Kendrick would go for the role in the ‘New Warriors’? You never know.
