Spotniz Not Working On New Series Of ‘The X-Files’

Frank Spotniz Not Writing Any New 'X-Files'

Acclaimed television writer Frank Spotniz has revealed that he is not involved in the writing of the new series of ‘The X-Files’.

In a recent interview with Digital Spy. The writer who wrote many of the shows most loved episodes revealed that he’d not be writing on the new series and although disappointed. He rightly pointed out that he gets to watch as a fan again, which is something he’s quite content with.

Spotniz revealed that he has been asked to come back, but sadly had to turn Chris Carter down because he’d made a commitment as a writer on Amazon Primes ‘The Man In The High Castle’.

“Yep, that’s true – sadly!” he said. “I am [disappointed]. After the last movie in 2008 I never stopped believing and rooting for The X-Files to come back – I always felt it would.

“It was just my bad luck that it happened at the exact same time I was doing this show!”

“I joined the show at the beginning of season two, so I did watch season one just like this and actually all the writers that are writing the reboot were on the show before I was, so to me it is like watching season one all over again.”
