On Tuesday Marvel revealed that they had struck a deal with Sony to have Spider-Man crossover into the Marvel film universe.
This announcement sparked a lot of questions from fans as well as theories on how it would all play out, but one question that was broached was whether or not Sony would be looking to replace Andrew Garfield, who currently plays Spidey in their movies.
The answer it would appear to be yes.
Yesterday Sony revealed that they were looking at younger actors to take over the role from Andrew Garfield who will carry on for the next two films. Two names rumored to be in the running for the part are Dylan O’Brien (Teen Wolf, The Maze Runner) and Logan Lerman (Fury).
Garfield is expected to leave the franchise after two films following a new deal with Marvel Studios that will see the character appear in its upcoming movies.
