‘Sherlock’ Helps BBC iPlayer Break Record

Late last we learned that ‘Sherlock’ had a role in helping BBC iPlayer gain record numbers.

There were over 3.5bn TV and Radio requests made in 2014, up from 3.1bn in 2013.

Many of the requests for popular television series were for shows like ‘Sherlock’, ‘Top Gear’ and ‘Murdered By My Boyfriend’.  ‘Sherlock’ alone brought in 4.2 million requests.

2.6bn TV requests and over 860m radio requests were made across all devices.

The 2014 figures also seen a 51% increase in requests iPlayer on tablets.
