Beware spoilers because the following could potentially give away some pretty big reveals about the forthcoming ‘Star Wars’ anthology film ‘Star Wars: Rogue One’.
It looks like we could finally have some big clues as to how close ‘Rogue One’ ties into ‘Star Wars: A New Hope’. And it is all thanks to a new leak.
As we all know. ‘Rogue One’, which is directed by Gareth Edwards is set at a time leading up to events that we see in 1977’s original ‘Star Wars’ film. But new evidence released today brings the two films much closer together in terms of their timeline.
According to The Hollywood Reporter‘s Borys Kit, ‘Rogue One’ will apparently play out all the way up to the ten minutes before ‘A New Hope’ begins. Just ten minutes!
This timeline has yet to be confirmed, as Borys’s insider sources are not prepared to go on the record with this new information just yet.
Earlier this week. News broke that the movie was to undergo some additional filming. Apparently this additional work is to enliven the film with more fun.
A more fun and sappier tone for the movie will of course help match it up better with ‘A New Hope’ and of course make it more kid friendly.
Felicity Jones has the starring role as Jyn Erso, leader of a ragtag group of Rebel fighters given the unenviable task of stealing the Empire’s plans for the Death.
Darth Vader and Alden Ehrenreich’s newly cast young Han Solo have been hotly tipped to appear in some capacity in ‘Rogue One,’ the first of the newly-launched Star Wars Story anthology films.
Either way. As someone who enjoyed ‘A New Hope’ and the recent ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ I know I will not be alone when I go to see this latest chapter of ‘Star Wars’ when it is released later this year. Of course that is only if they are able to get the additional footage done in time.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story arrives in cinemas on December 16, 2016.
