Director David Twohy is preparing the new ‘Riddick’ movie to go before cameras next month.
The latest movie sequel will see Vin Diesel reprise the title role of one of the 21st centuries most loved science fiction anti-heroes.
In a recent Instagram post Diesel revealed that his production company, One Road Films, “had a party to launch our TV division”. “MERC CITY is a show that will follow the Mercs and Bounty Hunters of the Riddick Universe,” he explained.
The actor also revealed that he is setting up to meet writer/director David Twohy next month in order to begin work on the new ‘Riddick’ sequel, which is titled ‘FURIA‘.
One Road Films produced the most recent in the franchise, ‘Riddick’, after acquiring the rights to the series from Universal. It followed ‘Pitch Black’ (2000) and ‘The Chronicles of Riddick’ (2004).
‘Riddick’ is not the only movie property that Vin Diesel has an interest in expanding in the form of a TV series. The actor/producer has recently expressed interest in expanding The ‘Fast and The Furious’ franchise on television.
