‘Quantum Leap’ stars Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell will get to share the smallscreen again in an up and coming episode of ‘NCIS: New Orleans’.
Dean Stockwell has been cast for a guest-starring role in the CBS show, which will see him back on the small screen with former Leap co-star Scott Bakula, Entertainment Weekly reports.
As fans well know Scott Bakula got his big television break when he played the role of Quantum Physasist Sam Beckett in the hit time travel drama. Stockwell starred as his wise-cracking, womanising and cigar-smoking sidekick, appearing as a hologram that only few could see.
In ‘NCIS: New Orleans’ Stockwell will play spirited retired New Orleans cop Tom Hamilton, the father of Councilman Douglas Hamilton (recurring guest-star Steven Weber). Bakula stars as New Orleans native and NCIS Special Agent Dwayne Pride.
Executive producer Gary Glasberg exclaimed: “We did it!
“We found an opportunity for the tremendously talented Dean Stockwell to reunite on-screen with Scott Bakula. What a treat for November sweeps. We are thrilled to have him join us for some Thanksgiving fun and intrigue in NOLA.”
This marks the second time that Dean Stockwell and Scott Bakula have acted together on a television series since ‘Quantum Leap’ ended in 1993. The first time was back in 2001 when Stockwell guest starred in the first season ‘Star Trek: Enterprise’ episode ‘Detained,’ in which he played the jailer of Captain Archer (Scott Bakula) and Ensign Travis Mayweather.
At the moment Dean Stockwell’s guest stint is a one off, but if it works well I have no doubt that we will likely see him return.
