Production Halted On ‘Mission Impossible 5’

It has been reported that director Christopher McQuarrie has met with a writer friend in order to come up with a more suitable ending for the film.

Over weekend production drew to a halt on ‘Mission Impossible 5,’ which sees Tom Cruise reprise his role of Ethan Hunt.

According to The Hollywood Reporter production in London was recently shut down “for a week or so” while an improved ending was written.

It has been reported that director Christopher McQuarrie has met with a writer friend in order to come up with a more suitable ending for the film.

Entertainment Weekly subsequently confirmed that production was paused for a week, but has already resumed again in order to film the revised ending.

McQuarrie stated in a tweet – since deleted – that “filming never wrapped [and] we took a short break to prep the finale properly”.

Cruise and McQuarrie have previously worked together on Jack Reacher.

In Mission Impossible 5, Cruise will star opposite franchise veterans Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames, while Alec Baldwin has been cast as the head of the CIA.
