Advance Review: I have been fortunate enough to see the opening two episodes of the second season of ‘Ash Vs Evil Dead’ and while I cannot give to much away. I can tell you that if you enjoyed the last series. You’ll love what is in store in these opening episodes.

What I can say though is the that the first episode introduces us to Brock Williams (Lee Majors) and it’s easy to see where Ash gets his winning personality. Without spoiling things to much. Be prepared for some quick and fun references to some of Lee Major’s past roles.

The first episode sees Ash and his friend’s return to his home town of Elk Grove, which is where we meet Ash’s father. But we also get to meet some former classmates of Ash.

Father and Son take on a deadly date.

As you’d expect the two episodes have their fair share of blood and gore, but the second episode takes the gross out humour to a whole new level. Watch out for a scene in episode two where Ash has to visit the county morgue. Its sick, twisted and a whole lot of fun.

These episodes also show some of the consequences of Pablo’s ill fated bit of FaceTime with the Book Of The Dead, which we saw at the tail end of the last series.

We also see Ruby joining the team, which makes for fun times. Especially given that its a chance for Lucy Lawless to act alongside Bruce Campbell again, which will make for great comedy. It will also be great to see Ruby’s character explored a little more, which is in the beginning stages in these episodes.

There’s a whole lot of new characters to come up this series, but one we meet straight away is Sheriff Emery who is your typical unwavering inflexible stick up the butt type – and the object of some fun one liners.

‘Ash Vs Evil Dead’ returns to STARZ on 2nd October. Set your DVR’s to extra bloody and sit tight for the ride of your life.
