The Walking Dead: Norman Reedus Will Start Riot If Daryl Dies

Reedus who plays the fan favourite character has encouraged such devotion that fans have come up with the mantra 'if Daryl dies, we riot'

‘Walking Dead’ star Norman Reedus has promised some civil disobedience if his character Daryl is seen off.

Reedus who plays the fan favourite character has encouraged such devotion that fans started to say ‘if Daryl dies, we riot”.

Reedus is very much on side with his fans.

Addressing fan anxiety about his character’s fate, the actor told Variety: “I will be passing out matches if that happens – I will be starting the riot.”

He continued: “You know what, I’m very appreciative. I put a lot of work into this character for a long time, and I really like my job.

“I like all the people I work with an awful lot, and I like all those fans that have my back, and I have their back, and I’m trying to do a good job for them as well. So it’s one big family that I’m proud to be part of.”
Reedus recently reacted to fan frustration at the season six cliffhanger and called the fan reaction a huge compliment.
Death By Negan
The season ended with the introduction of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), who brutally beat to death a member of Rick’s group – but who he picked remains a deliberate mystery.

You know, cliffhangers have been happening ever since television started,” the actor said. “And I like that there’s so much enthusiasm for this show.

“Everybody’s so invested in it, and we are too, but you make art sometimes to start the conversation, and having people talk about what you did is kind of a compliment no matter what they’re saying.

“So I get it. I mean, I like watching television and being pissed off and wanting to throw something through the TV too, but that’s part of the excitement! I like that kind of thing.

“So I’ll say it again: it’s well worth the wait.”

The Walking Dead airs on AMC in the US and on FOX in the UK.
