‘Men In Black’ Movie Series To Be Rebooted

The news that Sony was planning to reboot the series was broke by Producers Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald.

Hollywood is continuing its craze of rebooting popular movie series and the very latest to be falling victim to it is ‘Men In Black.’

As we all know ‘Men In Black’ is a relatively new franchise. The first movie kicked the series off back in 1997 and starred Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones as the titular ‘Men In Black’ of the films titled.

The last film in the series ‘Men In Black 3’ was only released about two years ago.

The news that Sony was planning to reboot the series was broke by Producers Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald.

When asked if there had been talk of ‘Men in Black’ under the new Sony regime, Parkes confirmed, “We’re in the middle of it. It’s very active.”

“It will be reinvented as a trilogy,” MacDonald added.

Talk of a fourth film with Smith and Tommy Lee Jones surfaced in 2013, but nothing ever came of it. More recently, leaked e-mails from the Sony e-mail hack seemed to indicate the studio was looking into a crossover between ‘Men in Black’ and their popular “Jump Street” franchise, though this too never panned out.
