After what seems to have been an incredibly long wait. ‘Agent Carter’, which aired in the USA earlier this year has finally got a UK broadcaster.

Fox UK will be showing the series and it has been revealed that all eight episodes will get their UK premiere in July.

This is great news for fans that have Fox as part of their Cable and Satellite service. Namely Sky and Virgin customers, but its not so good for those fans that do not have these services. Which means they’ll either have to wait for the DVD or look for it on Amazon or Netflix once the show had had its UK broadcast.

The first season sees Peggy working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve) while dealing with the loss of Steve Rogers – Captain America – and her male colleagues’ chauvinist attitudes.

Jeff Ford – Managing Director of FOX International Channels (FIC) UK – said: “Marvel’s Agent Carter is blockbuster Hollywood entertainment at its best.agent-carter-poster

“With high production values and a stellar UK and international cast, the series is the perfect addition to FOX UK’s summer line up, continuing the channel’s commitment to bring exclusive, original and breakthrough series to a UK audience.”

The show stars Hayley Atwell as the titular character of Peggy Carter, who was the strong and fierce love interest of Captain America in the first Captain America movie and a hero in her own right.

The series also stars Dominic Cooper as Howard (father of Tony) Stark, and James D’Arcy as Jarvis, Stark’s butler and Peggy’s greatest ally.

The series has already been renewed for a second season, which will run for a full 10 episodes with a chance of location from New York to LA.
