Mark Boal, who wrote the screenplay for the Oscar Winning ‘Hurt Locker’ has reportedly been working on the script for ‘Uncharted,’ which is the much talked about movie, which is based on the Naughty Dog Video game series.

According Hollywood Reporter  Boal is to perform a three-week production polish to the original script written by David Guggenheim.

Boal, whose writing credits also include ‘Zero Dark Thirty,’ is said to be a fan of the video game series.

It has recently been confirmed that Sony are aiming to start shooting the film next year with a view to a 2016 release date.

Oscar-nominated writer David O Russell has previously been attached to pen the script, while Mark Wahlberg has been linked on several occasions with the lead role of Nathan Drake. I personally think that Bruce Campbell would be perfect casting for the role of Sully.

Video game developer Naughty Dog is currently working on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, which is tipped to launch in 2015.
