Lucas Till who is best known for his role in ‘X-Men’ movies has won the starring role in CBS’s reboot of the classic series ‘MacGyver’.
Joshua Boone also joins the cast as MacGyver’s best friend from High School.
Also joining the cast is former ‘CSI’ regular George Eads who plays Lincoln a conspiracy theorist who happens to work for the government.
The original ‘MacGyver’ starred Richard Dean Anderson and was a mainstay on television during the latter part of the 80’s and the early 90’s.
Much like the original series this new ‘MacGyver’ has a knack for solving problems and thinking outside the box and is recruited by the US Government to bring an unorthodox approach to solving problems. The original series made much of MacGyver never using guns, which is a theme that I hope is continued in this newer and younger version of the series.
The 25-year-old Till, who’s best known for playing Havok in ‘X-Men: First Class,’ ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ and the upcoming ‘X-Men: Apocalypse,’ also stars in the upcoming sci-fi film ‘Monster Trucks.’
