Horror Legend John Carpenter Slams ‘The Walking Dead’

'The Walking Dead' series a cheap knock off of Romero's ''Night of the Living Dead' says Carpenter.

In a recent interview for the WTF Podcast horror legend John Carpenter revealed that he was not a fan of the hit AMC series ‘The Walking Dead’.

Carpenter who has given us such classics as ‘Halloween’, ‘Vampires’, ‘They Live’ and ‘Escape From New York’ slammed the Zombie series for being a poor copy of the zombie movies made by George A Romero.

“[The Walking Dead] was a movie that George Romero made back in 1968,” Carpenter said, referencing ‘Night of the Living Dead’.

“They have milked that, and they are still milking it. It’s unreal.”

It was not just ‘The Walking Dead’ that Carpenter slammed.

He also gave his thoughts on the ‘Paranormal Activity’ movies.

“Horror is due for a new beginning – it’s due for a resurgence,” he insisted.

“They have to change it. We have to change it up. We can’t keep doing these cheap poltergeist movies either. Paranormal… It’s just a cheap movie. Come on now!”

The Walking Dead will return to AMC and FOX UK in October.
