Ever since newspapers reported that Jenna Coleman would be departing ‘Doctor Who’ during the Christmas special – its been a hot topic and one of the most frequently asked questions that the actress gets when she talks about the show.
In a new interview for Radio Times the question about her future with the show was raised once again and unsurprisingly Coleman refused to confirm or deny the rumours, but enjoyed the opportunity to tease fans about future episodes of the show.
“There’s lots of rumours,” she said. “We’ve sat down with [showrunner] Steven Moffat and we’ve all decided we don’t want anyone to know which way it’s going.
“If you know I’m in the next series – or if you know I’m off – you’ll know how the story ends. Because there’s a surprise we’ve got coming, it’s much better that nobody knows which way it’s going to go.”
Peter Capaldi recently addressed rumours of Coleman’s imminent exit, saying: “I’m not looking for a new assistant. I don’t know where these rumours have started.”
Doctor Who continues this Saturday (September 13) at 7.30pm on BBC One.
