The new ’24’ reboot legacy is looking pretty slick if the release of the shows trailer is anything to go by. But one thing missing that many fans have been wanting to see is an appearance from Jack Bauer.
It seems that there could still be hope for a brief appearance by Kiefer Sutherland to reprise Jack for the series.
According to series creator Howard Gordon. There is always a chance. Speaking over weekend at the ATX TV Festival in Austin, Texas. The writer and executive producer told fans that Kiefer Sutherland hasn’t ruled out making the occasional guest appearance on the new show.
Gordon also teased that the Jack Bauer actor “feels alive” for 24: Legacy or even a movie at some point in the future, but stopped short of making any official announcements.
According to Deadline, 24: Legacy producers are leaving the door open for guest appearances from Sutherland or any of the other original cast members to appear in the second half of ‘Legacy’s’ first season.
Deadline went on to add that there have been no negotiations taking place between the show producers and original series cast as of yet.
Back in January, Kiefer hinted that he’d be open to playing globetrotting CTU agent Jack Bauer again at some point in the future.
“Jack Bauer might end up finding his way into an episode one day,” he said at the time. “And clarifying all of that, or ending all of that.”
Sutherland will next be back on TV as the embattled president of the United States in ‘Designated Survivor’, airing on ABC this fall.
’24: Legacy’ – which stars Corey Hawkins as an ex-Army Ranger targeted by terrorists – will get a huge spotlight when it premieres after Super Bowl LI on February 5, 2017.
