For the last couple of weeks. At least since the release date and second trailer was released. People have been enthralled in the mystery of who will be singing the anthem song for the latest Bond film ‘Spectre’.
One of the bookmakers favorites for the job has been soul singer Sam Smith who won four Grammy awards earlier in the year, but also in the running is Ellie Goulding, who despite not having the same level of music awards has pretty much gigged at most major venues including last year at Glastonbury.
Yesterday Goulding tweeted a teasing picture of herself leaving the iconic Abbey Road studios with the simple words “That’s a wrap”.
As to whether she had completed the final mix down of the new Bond theme was playfully kept a mystery. Goulding has been recording her new material at the iconic studios, but her message above fueled fan speculation with regard to the bond theme. The singer started much speculation on July 9 when she tweeted a reference to a much loved bond movie from 1973.

Adelle who recorded the song for Skyfall also recorded at Abbey Road studios.
Other contenders for the bond movie song are Sam Smith who has denied any involvement with the film and Ed Shearan, who found the very notion of doing a Bond song quite flattering.
As to whether Goulding is the latest artist to take on a Bond song remains to be seen. But it be interesting to see what she could do with a Bond song.
It wouldn’t surprise me if the song is released by the studio in the next couple of weeks. When Adelle did ‘Skyfall’ it was released a couple of months in advance of the movie.
