Synopsis: Alan is on space junk duty. Things take a turn for the worse when a piece of junk turns out to be a heat seeking SAT – Mine, which activates and locks onto Thunderbird 3’s heat signature.

Review: This episode focused on less characters and in so many ways was the better for it.

The main focus was on the youngest of the Tracy brothers Alan, who is still pretty much the rookie of the group and has much to learn.

Thankfully we did not have an endless assault of 5,4,3,2,1 this week as the Thunderbirds launched from their respective alcoves. There probably would not have been time anyhow.

The story made great use of international rescue having to recruit Lady Penelope in order to help them get through some bureaucratic nonsense in order to get hold of the codes in order to shut down the SAT-Mine that has locked onto Alan’s ship and is counting down to final detonation.

Parker gets some wonderful action scenes as he goes on a covert mission while Lady P distracts the authorities.

I really enjoyed this first outing of the series and if they keep writing stories like this, which capture much of the spirit and fun from the original series. I’d say we’re onto a winner.
