In Review: The Walking Dead #148

This issue sees Rick seek out the aid of none other than Negan himself!

From Image Comics and Robert Kirkman’s Skybound imprint, The Walking Dead issue #148 is brought to you by the creative team of Robert Kirkman (writer), Charles Adlard (penciler), Steffano Gaudiano (inker) and Cliff Rathburn (gray tones).

It is really something to think that The Walking Dead comic series is about to hit issue #150 and still going stronger than ever. Even if the comic has taken a turn in the story telling with respect to the post apocalyptic zombie world which Rick and the human communities have created, the creative team is still creating a diverse and vibrant interpretation of Robert Kirkman’s zombie vision.

Issue #148 sees Lydia being taken away from the Alexandria safe zone community by Carl and Andrea as tensions are running high in the aftermath of Alpha’s murderous rampage. As everyone knows that Lydia is Alpha’s daughter, who is the leader of the mysterious group of zombie skin wearing humans who seem more animal than civilized now, residents are calling for Lydia’s blood.

Likewise we see Alpha showing signs of her humanity as see crys in the woods as she misses her daughter, only to be seen by another member from her group who pays with his life for having seen Alpha show emotion weakness rather than strength over love and emotion.

Likewise tensions continue to for Rick’s community as they are still reeling from the deaths brought about by Alpha after she recently infiltrated the community. Community members including Eugene are demanding retribution and the death of Lydia as revenge, only to find Rick’s refusal as a reason for a fight to start at a community meeting.

Feeling as if things are beginning to spiral out of control, Rick turns to the one source a fan of the series would think unimaginable; as he seeks the aid of none other than Negan himself.
