In Review: The Flash – Magenta

Barry and team Flash are thrilled to reunite with Earth 2 Wells and Jesse.

Synopsis: Barry and team Flash are thrilled to reunite with Earth 2 Wells and Jesse. Wells confides to Barry and Caitlin that Jesse has all the powers of a Speedster and has been saving people on his Earth. He is concerned about her safety and wants them to talk her out of using her powers. Meanwhile, Magenta a new meta who can control metal, terrorises the city.

Review: This third episode sees the band get back together with the return of Dr. Wells and his daughter Jesse who is now a speedster.

While there is much drama centred around Jesse and her powers. We also see some nice moments involving Wally who is concerned because he has no powers and as such feels that he cannot be effective when trying to help people.

The story centred on villain Magenta sees a young girl in an abusive home being given that powers via Alchemy who is still to make clear his or her agenda.

Ultimately after terrorising the city. Magenta proves to be quite easy to stop. Even though it requires Jesse and her new speedster powers to lend a hand. All Barry has to do is talk Magenta down and get through to the human being inside of her.

We see some more fun moments between Barry and his new science lab partner Julian Albert who is instrumental in getting Magenta to reveal herself.

Also kudos should go to Keiynan Lonsdale for his portrayal of Wally’s inner turmoil with regards to not having any powers and as such feeling a but like a spare tire.

Although not the best episode we are ever likely to see. It did provide a lot of character development and growth for Wally West and Jesse. Hopefully their life lessons will get put to good use in future episodes.
