Synopsis: While searching for a missing woman, Supergirl and Mon-El end up on another planet where Roulette leads a slave trafficking ring.
Review: Supergirl eases us into the second half of the season with a simple story in which Supergirl goes on the hunt for a missing young woman.
Feeling a bit under worked with Guardian picking up some of the slack Supergirl expresses a bit of frustration, but manages to find an outlet for it when a friend of Snapper’s reports that her daughter has gone missing.
Meanwhile while helping Guardian Winn gets a beating off one of the crooks they are chasing and winds up having a crises of confidence, which is pretty quickly resolved by the close of the episode.
The episode also gives us a bit of Alex in her happy place with her relationship with Detective Sawyer. However even that gets a bit of a bump in the episode as Alex upsets the waters a little when her sister goes missing.
Really this was a by the numbers episode, which thrived mostly on the soap opera elements of the series.
Things didn’t really get interested until Supergirl and Mon-El stepped through the portal, which led them to Roulette who reveals that she has gone into the Alien slave trade and has been abducting young human’s to sell.
Roulette is an interesting villain to have on the show, but I don’t think we have seen how bad she can really be as yet and I really hope they show us something soon because its a waste of Dichen Lachman to not have something meaty to work with.
We do see something interesting with Mon-El who for some reason is left alone by the alien slavers when he and Supergirl aid the captive humans in their escape.
We also have a return of the aliens that began hunting for Mon-El in the first part of the season.
Hopefully things start to pick up next week and we move a little bit away from the soap opera stuff that seemed to be a little more heavy handed than usual this week.

- The Bad: Heavy handed with the soap opera elements
