Synopsis: Does blood run thicker than water? In this thrilling climax of the hugely acclaimed first arc, the murderer of Fenton Hardy is revealed… but do Nancy Drew and the Hardy brothers believe it? In order to find out where the truth actually may lie they must return to a place from their pasts and risk their lives.

Review: The first story arc of Nancy Drew And The Hardy Boys comes to a rollicking end as were learn the identity of the real killer.

Anthony Del Col picks the story up from where he left off in the last issue. Nancy’s father who has been critically injured is the latest suspect.

This revelation sees Nancy in the police interview room having to account for her whereabouts to a persistent Detective Collig.

Nancy’s dialogue with Collig is fantastically written and easy to envision as a television episode of a revival of Nancy Drew. If it was done today.

Of course like everything in this comic book series. The identity of the murderer is not as it seems. When Nancy is released she goes right back to the Hardy Boys to apologize for her fathers part in the murder of their Father.

By this point, the boys tell Nancy that her father has been framed. Which kicks off the race to learn the identity of the real killer.

The dialogue and interplay between the different characters in this story have been brilliant. I especially enjoyed how the relationship between Nancy and the Hardy Boys was written.

Anthony Del Col manages to stay true to the core characters of the story but updates them in a believable way. For example, neither of the boys is a genius computer hacker, but they happen to know one.

The art work by Werther Dell’edera has been consistent throughout.

The style used for the comic put me in mind of the old newspaper comic strips but done on a slightly higher budget and nice colour palette.

Although this final issue wraps up one story. The threads are left hanging for another, which will see Nancy and the Boys investigating a mysterious syndicate.

I look forward to seeing how that plays out.
