In Review: Marvel’s Agent Carter

The Agent Carter premiere episode was as sexy as Haley Atwell

To put it plain and simply; Marvel’s Agent Carter was a stunning, action paced and fun romp in the original Marvel Universe. Haley Atwell’s portrayal of Agent Carter takes us all back to the feel good success of Captain America: The First Avenger, in that Agent Carter is a character you can’t help but fall in love with.

It isn’t simply that Agent Carter is beautiful that you will have enjoyed the show; it’s because Agent carter is smart, tough, witty, crafty, dangerous, kicks ass, gets the job done and to top it all off, she also happens to be beautiful!

While practically all of the characters and roles surrounding Atwell’s Agent Carter are male, in a seemingly male dominated world and spy agency, Atwell and in turn her alter ego, Agent Carter, prove that a woman can do everything a man can do, and she can do it better in a pair of heels, while pretending to submissive.

One of Agent Carter’s true strengths it seems is that she allows all of those around her to underestimate her, knowing full well that therein lies one of the secrets of her success. Agent Carter is not just a pretty face; she is a brilliant, calculating, motivated and highly successful woman who has to work ten times as hard as her male counterparts and co-workers just to be able to stand in the same room.

Agent Carter works because the writing is smart, the interactions between the characters is fun and the show has plenty of twists and turns that will easily takes us through all of the next seven episodes in a whirlwind of fun and exciting early S.H.I.E.L.D. adventure!

This show is awesome for many reasons and is simply worth watching for its own sake along with all of the other very good reasons! Enjoy this stand-alone Marvel series my friends. EXCELSIOR!!!
