Synopsis: When Alex travels to Egypt she once again teams up with Hooten, this time to try and find the long-lost tomb of Alexander the Great.

Review: The third episode takes Hooten and Alex to Egypt where they are looking to excavate the tomb of Alexander The Great.

They soon learn that they are not the only people searching for the Tomb and come across some very shady characters who will stop at nothing to get the treasure for themselves.

While in a shrine for Alexander Alex finds a vital piece that could lead them to the tomb, but she is being closely watched by the crooks that she has inadvertently wound up as partners with. Hooten manages to get the piece from Alex and sneaks out with it.

One thing leads to another and while gambling in a local bar Hooten meets an undercover police officer working for the Greek authorities. She is after the gang that Alex and inadvertently gotten them involved with.

Ultimately toward the end of the episode. Our duo find the tomb, but ultimately have to bury any thoughts of excavating it due to the fight with the gang pretty much burying the tomb underneath a rock fall.

Much like last week. This was all action and knock about comedy with very little in the way of substance when it came to the mythology behind the treasure. Yet another wasted opportunity.

On the upside its a nice bit of fluff to watch on a Friday night, but the series is pretty much blowing off opportunities to educate as well as entertain. And Alexander The Great would have been a brilliant subject to actually do this with.

I have a feeling it might pop up after Thursday’s rerun.
