Synopsis: The Court Of Owls devises a new plan regarding the future of Gotham, as Gordon uncovers information about his father and uncle’s past, connecting him back to the organization.
Review: It looks like the plotting and scheming of the residents of Gotham continue and caught in the middle are James Gordon and a young Bruce Wayne.
While Bruce is being held captive by the court of owls he is seemingly being trained against his will by a mysterious Shaman.
Meanwhile James Gordon who has been investigating the court with a little help from his estranged uncle has to use his relationship with Barbara to find out about a Shipment of a weapon, that is coming in from Indian Hills.
While all of this is happening. An alliance is gradually being formed between Cobblepot who is believed dead and Ivy who is beginning to realise her true calling as poison ivy.
There’s a lot of good stuff in this episode. Specifically the seeds of Bruce Wayne becoming the Batman are being seeded by the Shaman who tells Bruce that he needs to put aside his grief and fear and embrace who he can truly be. A symbol for the city of Gotham.
Also good is the use of the Court of Owls and the way in which Gordon is being slowly reeled in by his Uncle. But when Gordon finds out that it was his Uncle that killed his father. Things go a little off track, which ultimately leads to James Gordon’s uncle sacrificing himself to get his nephew into the court.
The developing kinship between Penguin and Ivy is a lot of fun to watch and Maggie Geha is fantastic in the role of Ivy. Who at a moments notice can skip from being a helpless child to a manipulative killer.
Given that Gordon has now met the head of the court of owls. It will be interesting to see how that develops.
I also look forward to seeing how Ivy helps to facilitate Penguins need for revenge.
