From Marvel Comics and the creative team of Rick Remender (writer) and the amazingly talented Stuart Immonen (artist), the All New Captain America #2 is a fun and very beautifully illustrated issue of Sam Wilson’s new adventures as Captain America.
I must say that I do not think any issue, character, story or title in the Marvel or any other comic universe can be bad when Stuart Immonen is supplying the pencils. He is simply one of the best in the game right now and when you throw in the writing of Rick Remender, you have a great issue of the New Captain America.
Issue #2 of the new adventures of Captain America features a mission in which Sam Wilson and Ian Rogers A.K.A. ‘Nomad’ and adopted son of Steve Rogers; try to save a very special and strategically important boy from falling into the clutches of a very powerful Hydra.
Only it seems that Hydra as led by Baron Zemo along with a small team of super powered villains, are in fact several steps ahead of Captain America and his new partner Nomad. What I find refreshing is seeing the good guys overpowered and on the run from time to time as there is nothing like seeing a hero beat the odds, which are clearly stacked against them in this case.
Captain America is thankfully saved by Misty Knight, who is undercover in the sovereign nation of Bagalia, a small nation run and occupied by criminals. The issue also ends badly for Nomad, so I am clearly anticipating an amazing third issue in which Nomad survives his throat being cut, in this great new series!
You definitely need to pick up your copy true believers. Excelsior!!!
