In Review: Agents Of Shield – The Man Behind The Shield

Mace struggles for his life while Coulson and the team find themselves in a deadly cat-and-mouse game when they attempt a rescue.

Synopsis: Mace struggles for his life while Coulson and the team find themselves in a deadly cat-and-mouse game when they attempt a rescue.

Review: Lost of good stuff in this episode as Coulson and the team attempt a rescue of Agent May and Mace from Ivanov and is radicals.

As part of the rescue. Fitz must try and figure out the framework simulation that Radcliffe has Agent May ensnared in. This proves to be more difficult for Fitz than usual due to Radcliffe having used the Darkhold in order to ping the Framework off of multiple servers. Meaning it has no central control point.  The whole Framework issue comes up for a really cool discussion that Mack has with Fitz. Generally Mack is urging Fitz to think how his creations can be used before considering bringing them into being. A moral discussion, but a relevant one.  Given that Fitz created the Framework and Radcliffe corrupted it.

Meanwhile Ivanov is having fun torturing Mace and preaching about the ills of Agent Coulson and the Inhuman’s. Again this creates a solid discussion with good points on both sides. Am surprised Ivanov did not think to build a wall that is impervious to Inhuman’s.

Either way. By the time Coulson and his team initiate the rescue. We learn that the whole capture of Mace was in fact a ruse of Aida’s devising. Her plan. To replace all of Shields top agents with LMD’s. Which is the shock twist that the episode ends on when Fitz and Simmons realise that Coulson, Mack, Mace and Daisy have all be replaced.

The question is. What did Aida doe with the actual Coulson, Daisy, Mack and Mace. Are they locked in the Framework like Agent May?

Hopefully we’ll find out one way or another in the next few weeks as the season or potentially series draws to a close.
